MPC Students of Accomplish Academy recently visited the National Geophysical Research Centre in Hyderabad, where they had an enriching experience exploring the field of geophysics. In the Seismology Lab, experts introduced them to the science of earthquake detection, demonstrating the use of a seismometer and explaining how data graphs reflect seismic activity. Moving to the Open Rock Museum, students viewed a wide array of rock samples from diverse locations, gaining insights into various geological formations. They later examined these rocks under microscopes in a specialized lab, which allowed them to study each sample’s composition and formation up close. The visit also included a practical demonstration of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology, where students learned how this tool is used to map subsurface structures. This immersive visit provided students with a profound understanding of geophysical science and the innovative techniques used to explore and study the Earth.
